Orders, Delivery & Returns

  • Paper Type

    You are welcome to provide your own paper. It is recommended that you select a smooth, uncoated cardstock for the best finish. I am happy to provide you with paper recommendations.

    Textured papers and coated stocks, such as matte laminate, metallic, and glossy papers, orders will incur additional writing fees as these papers require more time and skill to work with. Fees will be determined based on ink testing.

    If the paper provided is found to be unsuitable for pointed pen calligraphy (e.g., ink bleeds through the paper):

    • you will be offered alternative hand lettering options where possible (e.g., permanent brush pen lettering)

    • otherwise, the order will be cancelled with a refund of any writing fees paid, minus any postage costs for returning the papers to you. Please note that set up fees are non-refundable.

    Quantity

    All clients must provide an additional 20% paper stock for their order. For example, for an order of 100 addressed envelopes, the client must provide 120 envelopes. Any unused spares will be returned to the client along with their order.

  • Currently, we offer black, gold and silver.

  • Grey Lavender Calligraphy offers a range of calligraphy scripts and styles.

Paper, Ink and Styles

  • Every calligraphy project is unique and is priced as such. Starting prices can be found on the services page, however, final prices will vary based on the complexity of your request, including inks, paper type, design and turnaround time.

    Generally speaking, your order fee will consist of:

    • Set up fees

    • Writing fees

    • Rush fees (for turnaround of less than the standard 4 weeks)

    The best way to get an accurate costing is to reach out for a customised quote for your unique calligraphy service.

  • The standard turnaround for orders is 4 weeks.

    Orders requiring a shorter turnaround will be accommodated where possible and will incur a rush fee as follows:

    • 3 weeks: 25% of the order amount

    • 2 weeks: 50% of the order amount

    • 1 week: 100% of the order amount.

  • A set up fee covers all the “behind the scenes” work to make your calligraphy vision happen, such as communication with you, ink testing and order packing.

    Set up fees start from $30 and may be higher for larger or more complex orders.

    Set up fees are non-refundable once paid.

  • Grey Lavender Calligraphy is based in Brisbane, Australia and proudly serves clients from all over the world.

    The studio endeavours to accommodate all international orders, however, is unable to deliver to certain countries due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. Please check https://auspost.com.au/service-updates/international-delivery-times to see if this affects your order.
