Celebrating the Power of Love and Collaboration this International Women's Day

Live calligraphy at Louise Jean Jewellery's Noosa Flagship

As a female artrepreneur, one of the most rewarding aspects of my work is the opportunity to collaborate with other women-owned businesses. Our shared backgrounds create a level of kinship, understanding and support that goes deeper than a business transaction.

This Valentine's Day, I had the immense pleasure of teaming up with the wonderful Louise Jean Jewellery for their very first brand activation in their Flagship Store on Hastings Street, Noosa. Together, we crafted live activation that went beyond celebrating romantic love—it embraced all the beautiful forms of connection that make life extraordinary.

Spreading Joy with Live Calligraphy

Positioned on the bustling streets, we embarked on a mission to spread love and joy whilst building buzz for the store. With bags of flowers in hand, the lovely ladies from Louise Jean handed out delicate posies of baby’s breath to passersby up and down Hastings Street. At the store front sat I, ready with my pen and paper to capture heartfelt sentiment in handwritten calligraphy, each stroke a testament to the power of personal expression.

The act of writing notes and cards was a talking point for many passersby, whether they were armed with surf boards or morning coffees. It was heartening to see calligraphy appeal to people of varied backgrounds and ages. Some were struck by nostalgia, with the nib and ink reminding them of practising running writing in their school days. Parents shared excitement with their young children who had not seen live calligraphy before. My honour and delight was witnessing the sheer joy these cards brought to people's day; a reminder of the magic that happens when art meets the streets, even traditional artforms like calligraphy.

A Street-Side Celebration of Connection

Our street-side setup became a haven of love, drawing in crowds with the allure of live calligraphy and the promise of a personalized touch. It wasn't just about the cards; it was about creating an experience, a moment of connection amid the hustle and bustle of the city. Every card became a miniature masterpiece, a tangible reminder of shared emotions and the beauty of human connection.

Gratitude for the Journey

I extend my deepest gratitude to Louise Jean Jewellery for inviting me on this beautiful journey. Their commitment to celebrating love aligns seamlessly with my own artistic mission, and collaborating with a brand that values personal connections made the experience even more special. To the 42 individuals who now carry a piece of handwritten love, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your stories.
